Businesses have been warned about the dangers of posting sensitive information on social media sites.
According to one IT security expert, social networking sites are known to be a risk for internet users if they post personal information on them, but the same could be true for businesses.
Robert Schifreen, a reformed hacker and security consultant, claimed that the details many people make available on the internet can be used by cybercriminals to gain access to their bank accounts.
He claimed that businesses should also err on the side of caution when updating their public-facing social media profiles.
"The golden rule is never ever type in usernames, passwords or credit card details after clicking on a link within an email message," he concluded.
Recently industry expert CPP said that spam is another cause of network security breaches and an estimate 420,000 spam emails are sent every hour.
